Makerspace

Creating the Future in our Design and Tech Lab

About Makerspace

The Makerspace lab at Khaitan Public School has been set up with the purpose of helping to prepare our students for the critical 21st century skills in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEAM). It provides hands-on learning, helps with critical thinking skills and even boosts the students' self-confidence. Some of the skills that are learned in the KPS Makerspace, pertain to electronics, 3D printing, 3D modeling, coding, robotics and even woodwork. Makerspace fosters entrepreneurship in the young learners as it helps them ideate and create new and exciting things.
...
Makerspace is an area where students come to explore, build, create and tinker. Students learn problem solving skills, logical skills, fine motor skills, reasoning skills, innovation skills, critically thinking and apply their knowledge to solve real life problems. While working on the projects students work collaboratively, manage time, resources and work with creativity.
Makerspace benefit students by allowing them to be responsible for their own self dedicated learning. Which are to be used in modern work places.
Makerspace is not only a science lab, wood shop, computer lab or art room, but it contains elements found in all these spaces.
Makerspace is a process driven by wonders.
