Visual Arts

Where imagination finds form and creativity finds voice.

A vibrant, multidisciplinary space where creativity and reflection intersect. Our state-of-the-art Department of Visual Arts guided by nine professional art educators; offers students an immersive journey through painting, sculpture, ceramic-pottery, printmaking and digital arts. From traditional fine arts to contemporary digital practices, we support every learner’s artistic voice through hands-on exploration, personal expression, and cross-disciplinary collaboration empowering them to see, think, and create beyond boundaries. By encouraging originality instead of copied work, we transform young artists into thoughtful creators ready to shape the world with imagination and vision.

Creative Expression in Action:
Inside Our Ateliers

Drawing & Painting

In Drawing and Painting, students build foundational art skills through pencil, charcoal, ink, watercolour, acrylics, and mixed media. They learn key techniques such as shading, blending, layering, perspective, and colour theory while developing observation and composition skills. This discipline encourages creativity, expression, and confidence as students explore both realistic and imaginative approaches to visual storytelling.

Printmaking (Graphic Art)

In Printmaking, students explore techniques such as linocut, woodcut, drypoint, monotype, and screen printing to create original artwork through carved or prepared surfaces. The process encourages experimentation with texture, repetition, and positive–negative space. Through hands-on practice, students develop precision, patience, design thinking, and confidence while experiencing the joy of creating multiple prints from their own handcrafted plates.

Sculpture & Clay Modelling

In Sculpture and Clay Modelling, students create three-dimensional artworks using clay, wire, plaster, paper pulp, and mixed media. They explore additive, subtractive, and constructive techniques through modelling, carving, assemblage, and mould-making. The process strengthens spatial understanding, tactile awareness, and craftsmanship, while encouraging imagination, problem-solving, and hands-on creative expression.

Ceramic Pottery

In Ceramic Pottery, students learn to shape functional and decorative clay forms through hand-building, slab work, and wheel throwing. They explore surface treatments such as slip decoration, sgraffito, and glazing to enhance texture and design. Pieces are then kiln-fired through bisque and glaze cycles, allowing students to experience the complete ceramic process. This discipline builds patience, precision, control over form, and an understanding of clay behaviour and glaze interaction resulting in meaningful, tactile, and expressive craftsmanship.

Our Leaders Speak

In visual arts, training the hands and eyes is only the beginning. The deeper purpose is to nurture the mind; spark creativity, refine perception, and build an expressive, balanced personality. Art education helps students think, feel, and create with confidence. At Khaitan, we don’t just teach techniques; we cultivate creators who see differently.

Our classrooms function like studios of discovery, where mistakes become opportunities, observations turn into ideas, and ideas evolve into meaningful expressions. Students learn to question, analyse, and interpret the world around them, eventually finding their own artistic voice. Through sustained practice, exposure to diverse art forms, and guided exploration, they develop visual sensitivity, emotional intelligence, and the courage to communicate who they are.

In Theatre, every activity becomes a doorway to expression and discovery. Our sessions are designed to help students think creatively, collaborate fearlessly, and communicate with clarity and confidence. As they improvise, perform, and explore characters, they develop empathy, discipline, and emotional awareness. Theatre empowers learners to understand themselves, respect others, and face challenges with courage. Our goal is not just to train performers, but to shape articulate, confident, and compassionate individuals.

Bharatanatyam is not just movement—it is discipline, expression, and cultural wisdom in action. Our sessions help students explore rhythm, storytelling, and traditional technique in a structured yet creative environment. Each gesture, posture, and expression builds balance, focus, and emotional awareness. As learners connect with India’s artistic heritage, they develop resilience, confidence, and respect for practice and precision. The aim is to nurture dancers who carry this classical art form with pride, grounding their creativity in tradition while discovering their own artistic voice.

In Performing Arts, learning is not limited to technique — it is a journey of self-expression, discipline, and joyful discovery. At Khaitan, every child finds a stage where their voice, rhythm, and creativity are valued. We consciously design experiences that blend tradition with contemporary practice, allowing students to build confidence, collaboration, and cultural sensitivity. Our aim is not just to train performers, but to nurture thinkers, dreamers, and empathetic human beings who carry the power of the arts into every aspect of life.

At Khaitan Public School, our Hindustani Vocal program helps students explore music as a form of expression, discipline, and cultural identity. Each session blends swaras, taals, and riyaaz to strengthen voice, clarity, and confidence. Students learn to listen deeply, perform fearlessly, and connect with Indian classical traditions in a joyful, structured environment. Over time, they gain patience, emotional balance, and a musical foundation that supports their growth beyond the classroom.

As both an artist and educator, I believe creativity thrives where artistic practice meets thoughtful teaching. True artistic growth emerges from disciplined skill-building, bold exploration, and authentic self-expression. I hold the conviction that every child is inherently creative — and it is our responsibility to nurture that potential with respect, patience, and space to bloom.

Transformation is the only constant — and art teaches us how to embrace it with awareness and expression. Through sculpture education, students learn to translate experiences, emotions, and observations into tangible forms. This process nurtures resilience, reflection, and a deep appreciation for every moment of growth and creation.
