The Leadership Camp at Khaitan Public School, held on the 12th and 13th of July 2024, was an inspiring two-day event brimming with learning, collaboration, and personal growth. It commenced with an enthusiastic welcome, highlighting the significance of leadership and the focus on developing communication skills, goal setting, time management, and teamwork.
The presence of Chief Guest Colonel Tejandra Pal Tyagi and Mrs. Raj Sharma, alongside esteemed school dignitaries, lent an air of prestige to the event. The ceremony began with the lighting of the auspicious lamp by the Chief Guest, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge.
The students zealously participated in the very first interactive session with Mr. Anirudh Khaitan, the school chairman, on ‘Growth Mindset and Positive Thinking’. The session emphasized on the importance of cultivating these key qualities for personal development and leadership. Hereafter, there was Dr. Gaurav Kapoor’s session on “Design Thinking and Problem-Solving Approach”. This session engaged the students in various activities that fostered collaboration and showcased their team spirit. The paper tower activity was a notable highlight.
Ms. Emilin Clement’s “Team Bonding” session was designed to enhance motivation, cooperation, and collaboration through various team-building activities. A significant highlight of the first day was the relaunch of the student-led school newsletter, The Khaitan Dispatch, alongside the Talent Hunt Show. The objective of the Talent Hunt was to discover the hidden talents of young Khaitanians. The students displayed their skills in classical and contemporary dance, playing musical instruments, rap, drawing, self-composed poems and much more.
Day two began with a “Meditation and Yoga” session, emphasizing the importance of yoga in leading a better lifestyle. Physical activities followed, enhancing students’ physical strength and behavioural regulation. Ms. Alokananda Sen Awasthi conducted a session on “Developing Social and Communication Skills, Public Speaking, and Grooming,” enabling students to express themselves with proper posture, body language, and etiquette. Ms. Saleha Ashfaq’s ‘Leadership Style’ test helped students understand their strengths and weaknesses, earning them certificates that detailed their leadership styles.
Ms. Richu Garg’s session on “Time and Stress Management” provided clear insights into the topic, while the Principal, Mr. Anand Kumar, conducted a session on “Making a Difference in Others’ Lives as Leaders.” The session inspired the students to spread happiness and instil confidence as well as optimism in others. Two inspirational videos reinforced these ideas.
