The Khaitan MUN Global Thinkers’ Conclave 3.0 was flagged off on 9th and 10th July 2021 with 55 schools and over 325 delegates from across 7 countries. It was a student-led event successfully organised in a unique style.
The lockdown has resulted in people being involved in conversations around online education, pharmaceuticals, protests and public gatherings, the entertainment industry and the media and started thinking about sustainability. That’s where the idea of the Global Thinkers’ Conclave 3.0 was conceived.
“Triumpho Cogitandum”-the victory of thought. Khaitan MUN Global Thinker’s Conclave 3.0 was centred on this inspiring topic. The sheer amount of participation was exceptional. Many schools from the country and other countries such as Nepal and Poland participated in the two-day conference.
The conference was comparatively unconventional and different from regular MUNs, focusing more on development of thought and ideas and conception of solutions than rules. Under the guidance of the Executive Board members, the seven committees provided the delegates a platform to discuss and debate on a large variety of topics, such as-prison reforms, platform economy and its impact on workers, nation and well-being, deschooling’s impacts, farmers’ protests, future of gaming industry and child friendly urban planning. Along with these, the International Press committee reported the entire conference in a newsletter with the help of the committee’s reporters, designers and caricaturists.
Through these marvellous deliberations, debates and resolutions, the delegates and others started their fantastic tread on the path of becoming leaders for life, which is also the school’s motto.
Along with the in-committee proceedings, the conference was enlightened by the presence of two magnificent Chief Guests for each of the two day conference. Mr. Aditya Raj Kaul and Mr. Prikshit Dhanda, through their uplifting and moving speeches, encouraged and awoke the feeling of confidence, motivation and the desire to strive hard in our lives in order to achieve success.
Mr. Aditya Raj Kaul, was the Chief Guest for the Opening Ceremony. He is a noted journalist with CNN News 18. Mr. Kaul rose to the limelight through the first-ever social media-led campaign in India-Justice for Priyadarshini Mattoo, in 2006. Announced among the top 25 Youth Icons of the country, he is also one of the top 25 “Capital Change makers” in New Delhi. He is the founding member of Republic TV and has worked as an Editor-Strategic Affairs and Internal Security at Business Television India.
Mr. Prikshit Dhanda was the Chief Guest for the Closing Ceremony. He is the co-founder and CEO of MIE (Making India Employable), a venture that has employability at its core. He is passionate about coaching and counselling students for a bright future.. He is single-mindedly guided by his passion for educating the youth to build a better India. He has trained more than half a million students in the last decade.
The entire event was organised by the school MUN Secretariat throughout a span of months. The event was successful in stimulating and creating non-conventional ideas, thoughts and strategies in the minds of the young thinkers to invoke change and create a better world.
The opening ceremony witnessed the introduction of the various committees, topics of discussion and the profiles of the chairpersons, followed by a musical performance and a charming dance performance by the Khaitan Performing Arts Society. Thereafter, the conference was officially declared open by the Secretary-General, Rashi Ratan.
The ceremony further proceeded with the active participation of all the enthusiasts. The event culminated with the Vote of Thanks extended by KPS’ Events and Activities Coordinator and KhaitanMUN’s Chef de Cabinet, Ms. Snehlata Chauhan. The ceremony was then officially declared closed by the Secretary General.
Only time will tell what happens in the future of this conference, which has shaped young minds and raised awareness about various topics in them. One can only anticipate the tidal wave of change that the next generation will usher in, propelling the world forward on a path of unprecedented growth and success.
