The Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2023-24 was held in KPS on 7th July, 2023, with great enthusiasm. The ceremony is one of the momentous occasions when the school entrusts hope, faith and the mantle of sponsibility to the newly appointed school council. This ceremony signifies the reliance and confidence that the school consigns in the new office bearers.

The ceremony was presided over by the Education Director Ms. Mamta Kapoor, Vice Principal Ms. Aparajita Roy Das, Guest of Honour Col. Amit Pandey, Lieutenant Colonel from the Corporation of Engineers, Head of Senior School Ms. Rishika Sharma, Head of Preparatory & Middle School Ms. Nidhi Singh and Head of Foundation School Ms. Barkha Kanwal.

The ceremony commenced with lighting of the lamp to the chanting of the Saraswati Vandana by the students of Sargam, the school choir followed by Chhap Tilak, a musical rendition.

The Education Director, Ms. Mamta Kapoor welcomed the Guest of Honour with a home-grown plant nurtured by the Eco-Club of the school. Words of motivation and inspiration were delivered by the esteemed guest Col. Amit Pandey. In his speech, he guided the student council members, the torch bearers of tomorrow, to be role models and render their responsibilities sincerely.

Celebrating the wit and valour of Lord Ganesha, the students from the KPS Performing Arts society presented a breath-taking classical dance: Shri Vigna Rajam Bhaje. The audience were taken to the journey from classical to western moves through Money Heist, based on the Spanish crime drama television series.

The selection process of the school council began with the students nominating themselves. This was followed by interviews and an election, giving each student a sense of involvement and participation.

The school council posts included: Head Student Council, Sports Captain, Performing Arts Captain, Visual Arts Captain, Literary Captain, Community Service and Environment Captain, ICT Captain, Class Representatives, House Captains and Prefects.

“To accomplish great things, we must not only act but also dream, not only plan but also believe.” The previous Student Council worked with great dedication and zeal to make this institution scale new heights. The outgoing Head of Student Council, Saanvi Rastogi, shared her experiences with everyone.

The new council members were conferred with badges, certificates and sashes. The new Deputy Head of Council Junior, Taani Bharadwaj and Deputy Head of Council Senior, Jiya Shukla, Head of Student Council Junior, Aashvi Jain and Head of Student Council Senior, Chaitali Singh along with the rest of the council members took an oath to hold the school motto in high esteem.

The new council will now foray into the ambit of responsibility. They pledged to keep the banner of Khaitan Public School flying high with zeal and commitment. They promised allegiance to their alma mater and prove themselves to be worthy of the responsibilities given to them.

The ceremony ended with the vote of thanks proposed by the Vice Principal Ms. Aparajita Roy Das. She congratulated the council members and added that the student council must uphold the school maxim ‘Leaders for Life’.
