Khaitan Public School, celebrated Recognition Day on 27th of August to felicitate School students’ excellence in academic rigour as well as co -curricular activities. The evening, which was conducted online, began on an auspicious note with the chanting of Sanskrit shlokas to invoke the blessings of Goddess Saraswati and Lord Ganesh. The Middle School Head, Ms. Aparajita Roy Das, warmly welcomed all to the threefold recognition of the children, parents and teachers for their pursuit of brilliance. The avant garde vice- chairman Mr. Anirudh Khaitan, addressed the august gathering and acknowledged the efforts of the students and encouraged them to keep up the good work. The Vice Principal -Teaching and Learning, Ms Himani Tyagi shared her thoughts on the value of perseverance and congratulated the students on their astounding achievements.
The Chief Guest of the event, a woman of many talents, Ms. Swapna Nair the Principal at Arwachin International School, Dilshad Garden graced the occasion with her presence. She is an experienced teacher’s trainer, editor and content writer for English textbooks. She had held the post of Head Mistress among others for 8 years in Khaitan Public School. An ardent lover of the environment, she is presently working in collaboration with District State legal authority in spreading awareness on POCSO and cyber-crime. She heartily blessed and appreciated the students for their virtuosity in every sphere of learning.
The much-awaited awards were announced for students, Session 2020-21. Certificates were awarded for various honours like Mahadevi Verma Award. Ramanujan Award, Uday Shankar Award, Lata Mangeshkar Award, Jamini Roy Award etc. The announcement of each award was followed by a thundering applause as students reaped the fruits of their labour and application.
The event witnessed a melange of ideas resonating through various artistic and aesthetic skills. Aditya Kumar enthralled the audience with a Piano recital, while Divyansh presented a humorous mime. The Khaitan Performing Arts Society showcased a breath-taking dance performance on the song ‘Ek Jinderi’ choreographed by Ms Munam Roy. The performance encouraged the students to believe in themselves and not lose hope in any situation. The Middle School Head Girl, Nitya Sindhu proposed the vote of thanks and brought the celebration to a close. It was truly a proud occasion for all achievers.
