Most schools in Ghaziabad are geared up to re-open classes for standard 10 or 12 in 2021. These schools have already conveyed their intent to parents seeking their opinion on students’ returning to school. The re-opening of schools has become all the more important considering the fact that schools have to conduct doubt-clearing sessions as well as practical examinations before board examinations, which require face to face interaction. Though the state governments in most of the states have issued guidelines for opening schools from first week of January, it remains a challenge how schools are preparing to deal with the challenge of ensuring safety of children and teachers during pandemic times.

So, let’s see how schools in Ghaziabad are gearing up in 2021 to deal this?

Top 10 schools in Ghaziabad including KPS, have sought parents’ suggestions on sending children back to campus and also for the use of school transport. Most of them made it mandatory for students to carry COVID negative certificate while ensuring the protocol of safe distancing and sanitization. Schools are also putting a strong emphasis on Covid-19 safety measures and some have even introduced sensor-based faucets and doors. At KPS, we have conducted an orientation program for all the faculty members with an aim to explain to them about institution’s readiness to embrace the new normal and here is what we are doing:

  • The seating capacity has been reduced to 40 percent in classroom as well as school buses.
  • Teachers must ensure that children maintain a safe distance of 6 feet while boarding the bus or otherwise.
  • Thermal checking and hand sanitization is a must while boarding the bus or entering the school campus.
  • Markings have been created on the floor to induce the concept of safe distance.

Beside these measures, we are continuing with online classes for those students, who are not in the classroom. Though conducting online and offline classes has become a little more challenging for schools, but we are committed to think of students’ welfare first. At KPS, we are also educating teachers to equip them with the latest technology and use of effective online tools.

As health remains the key focus area during pandemic times. The schools in Ghaziabad have been conducting online sessions to teach students various physical exercises that can be easily performed from the comfort of their homes. Art, music and dance classes are also conducted online while maintain standard operating procedures.
