What is Guidance and Counselling Cell (GCC)?

We are here to give importance to your problems, to spread the idea of inclusiveness in the society, and to dream a society that is equal in all its aspects and treatment.

Goals of GCC

  • To educate parents about a child’s need.
  • To listen to the issues of all students and their parents.
  • To create a compassionate society by promoting empathy as a primary emotion.

When to Approach us?

Reasons for Parents to meet the Special Educator:

  • When your kid is having difficulty in differentiating letters such as 'b' and ’d’, 'p' and 'q' etc, and other learning problems.
  • When kid displays violent behavior, such as tantrums, fighting, or hitting other children on a daily basis.
  • Have difficulty in copying from blackboard.
  • When you kid does not pay attention or stay focused while doing an activity for as long as other children of the same age do.
  • When kid avoids everybody or rarely makes eye contact with others.
  • When kid does not like being touched.

When should students write to the counsellor

There are no hard and fast rules. If something is troubling the students, the students have the access to meet the School Counsellor throughout the day.

There are however a number of issues that frequently come up, for example:

  • Difficulty in Coping with Competitions
  • Estranged relationship with their significant others (Family & Friends).
  • Academic issues
  • Examination Anxiety
  • Career guidance
  • Lack of Confidence
  • Dysfunctional Family
  • Bereavement due to rejection, failure, etc.
  • Substance Abuse (Mostly smoking)
  • Lack of Emotional balance
