Students come and do various activities with individual purposes and learning in the Activity Room. Here we are showing two such activities involving water and showing their significance:
Sensory Bins – Water play and Looking for Animals in the Water Noodle Jungle
Playing with water has its own share of excitement – excitement that brings about its own kind of calm as the water touches one’s skin.
- Children using the waterfall
Children use recycled plastic bottles as they pour water on the water fall. The waterfall set (from Lakeshore) helps kids explore the wonders of water movement…from a cascading waterfall to a spinning waterwheel! Kids can use the waterfalls one at a time, or stacked units 2, 3 or 4 levels high…then pour water into the top and watch their multilevel waterfall creation come to life! Mesmerized, they love this activity. It was interesting to watch the concentration with which they were filling their water bottles and pouring the water on the waterfall.
- Child looking for animals
One little one went about looking for animals in the jungle of water noodles. His organizational skills were visible in the manner in which he placed each and every animal in a perfect order at the perfect place. No two animals were stacked or dumped, each one was placed meticulously in the basket and then later around it.
